At Outlier Athlete Development, we believe that outliers are those who find their own way, rather than settling for what is normal. Our original idea, born from this belief, has outgrown itself into a thriving community of athletes dedicated to health and performance in action sports.

Led by our Director of Strength and Conditioning, Evan Nystrom, who has over ten years of experience in the industry, we are committed to making Outlier the top training brand in all action sports. Unlike traditional Strength and Conditioning Specialists, Coach Evan chose to focus on working with action sports athletes. We bring our experience with action sports and Exercise Science to all athletes, whether they ride on two wheels or a board, climb with a chalk bag, or simply use their own bodies.

We are passionate about creating a training community that brings health and performance together. Join us at Outlier Athlete Development and find your own way to success.

About Coach Evan

Coach Evan grew up in White Salmon, WA where he remained until attending Central Washington University where he was a Track & Field athlete and earned his BS, in Exercise Science. He now resides in Bend, Oregon with his wife, Erin. Evan's athletic career had a different route than most. He grew up racing motocross starting at the age of four, and he has raced motocross ever since (aside from while he was attending college), winning multiple championships both locally and regionally. When he was in the seventh grade he began his running career which led to a scholarship. Once graduating college in 2015, Evan moved to Beaverton, OR where he worked as a personal trainer for five years. During his time there, he was lucky enough to meet his wife in early 2017. Evan and Erin both gave their time to Obstacle Course Racing where they competed at an elite level and competed against some of the best in the world at the 2018 OCR World Championships in London, England. They became engaged following their race, they then got married in late 2019. In 2020, Evan continued working hard throughout the times, establishing himself as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist by becoming a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Evan's perspective as a coach has shifted greatly over the years as he continues to learn new science and training methods. His goal is to help his athletes reach their fullest potential in their sport and also in their health and wellness.
